WHO WE ARE

In activities for 22 years, we coordinate more than 30 extension courses and 50 specialization courses. Created to promote, encourage and coordinate courses open to the general public in technological and engineering areas related to the marine environment.

We believe that the engineering activity presents constant and rapid changes, resulting in the need for continuous improvement.

Guided by the academic excellence of UFRJ in the training of human resources, in 2000, the Offshore Continuing Education Laboratory - LabECO was created, with the objective of managing projects and teaching and research activities applied to the oil and gas area.

Seeking to meet the great demand for knowledge in the naval and petroleum area, LabECO develops Graduate courses compatible with the professional profiles required by the sector, allowing participants to follow the growing advances in engineering.

We also work on the development of techniques for application in distance education. In the activities carried out remotely through the AVA platform - Virtual Learning Environment -, we use the free software MOODLE and it already accompanies us in all courses.

Naval Engineer, M.Sc, Ph.D, Post Doc

Associate Professor POLI – UFRJ

He holds a postdoctoral degree at the University of New Orleans (1995-1997), a PhD in Sciences from COPPE/UFRJ (1995) and a Master's degree in Sciences from COPPE/UFRJ (1985). He is a naval engineer graduated at the Department of Naval Engineering at Escola Politécnica da UFRJ (1981) and associate professor at the Department of Naval Engineering at Escola Politécnica da UFRJ. Professor of the UFRJ staff with a public examination in 1985.
His professional experience includes dozens of undergraduate and graduate courses, around 60 papers published in national and international conferences and around 10 publications in international journals, 10 master's and 3 doctoral orientations._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_
